Education as a development issue

It is urgent to work on the education issue in Africa. In the Savannah region in Togo, people do not have access to education, key factor of human development. The NGO Aide et Action runs a project in partnership with the French Development Agency (FDA) which applies the development policy defined by the French government. The project is entitled Education for All in Togo (EFAT).


The Global Campaign for Education 2011

Three stories of women et girls, three ways to tell how education changed their lives... The Global Campaign for Education (GCE) will focus in 2011 on women and girls' education. Various storytelling activities will take place all around the world to promote Education For All (EFA). NEP / GCE Cambodia makes a call to all activists and Human Rights organizations to join the movement.


Literacy classes for women in Ouagadougou

The NGO Aide et Action works to support the cause of women who can not read or write worldwide... In Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, Aide et Action runs a project with UNICEF. The project is entitled "Elles" and supports the education of women and girls, to help them to have their rights back, through education.


Securing human rights for people with disabilities

Behind the scenes of the Real Way Down documentary in Sofia, Bulgaria... In the institutions for children with disabilities, hundreds of deaths were caused by hunger, cold and neglect, dozens poisoned by drugs, held tied up and physically abused. The Bulgarian Helsinki Committee provides reports on human rights violations with a special emphasis on rights of the child.


After the 2010 Haiti earthquake

After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the NGO Aide et Action and its partners responded to appeals for humanitarian aid, pledging funds and supporting the education system which had been damaged. The project "Nap Vanse" takes place in Port-au-Prince as well as in other regions where international support is not so present. Aide et Action team in Haiti pursues its efforts on a daily basis to ensure haitian children go back to school.


Social reconstruction in the Balkan region

Behind the scenes of the Real Way Down documentary in Pristina, Kosovo... The NGO Balkan Sunflowers promotes local volunteerism and brings volunteers from around the world to work in social reconstruction and renewal. By organizing educational, social and cultural activities, the NGO promotes understanding, further non-violent conflict transformation, and celebrate the diversity of the lives and cultures of the Balkan region.


Women and girl's education in developing countries

Women and girls' education is one of the main priority for the NGO Aide et Action. The organisation runs various projects for women in Benin, Mali, Niger, Senegal, China, India and Marocco. The economic crisis which started in the last quarter of 2008 has been spreading in the developing countries and, it had a serious impact on the social sectors of these countries. Equality between men and women is an emergency.


Supporting street children in Bangkok

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a vibrant city attracting migrants from the entire country and its neighbouring Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. Vulnerable families as well as children on their own travel to Bangkok hoping for a better future. Arriving unprepared in the city, they are exploited, trafficked or end up living in the streets. Together, building futures.
